Data Boot Camp

I wish I had this DVD when I was acquiring my administrative degree at Sacred Heart as it informed me about a feature you can add on to Excel called E-analyze, which has many of the calculations adminstrators need for statistical analysis.

I will have this "Data Boot Camp" DVD available for us to use in the Career Center or to utilize, down the road, during a professional development day meeting. It will certainly help us keep statistics on our own individual students and we could do this when we meet our students during their individual planning sessions or at the end of the day.

iMovie & iDVD

Wow! There is so much you can do with both of these software packages. I am enjoying learning them, but am also frustrated at moving the video frames as it isn't as easy as it looks. Hopefully, when I put it all together, I will not have to alter it too much when I put it together, as it is time consuming.

August when all the counselors are in school, I will begin the process.

Counselor Videotape

Videotaping what we do as counselors will enable us to show parents what we do in the counseling department. It will be good PR. There was a very nice video created during our accredidation purposes which was done very well, so I think we can also do the same with the counseling department, as that wasn't really covered in the video. It will only entail what you do already, so I will just be videotaping you during your usual business.

Excel Training

Danbury High School Counselors

I will be helping you set up Excel spreadsheets to use during your individual guidance meetings with your students. Once you have this set up, you will be able to utilize the technology to tailor it to your own needs and make your paperwork and your meetings much easier.

Podcasting

I am currently setting up a lesson plan for the counselors at Danbury High School to put their podcasts on that they create when I show they how to create them and how simple it would be to get students information in a form that they might look at.
